THE VEHARI CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY. ELECTION  SCHEDULE 2024-2026

In compliance with trade Organizations Act 2013, Rule 14 and Memorandum and Article of Association, the Executive Committee has approved the election for the year 2024-26 in the meeting of the Executive Committee 13th July 2024.

 
Sr. Activity Time Period

1		 The Secretary General shall display election schedule on notice board of the VCCI and also on the website of the Chamber and Submit a copy to regulator. Monday, July 15, 2024
Ashura Holidays 16 July 2024 to 17 July 2024
2 The Member firms of the Chamber desiring to change their representative shall intimate changes regarding name of representative to the Secretary General along with necessary proof. Thursday, July 18, 2024
3 The Secretary General shall display the provisional list of all members eligible to vote along with their National Tax Registration Number, Sales Tax Registration if applicable and with the name, national identity card of number of their representative at Notice Board and website of the Chamber. Monday, July 22, 2024
4 The members who have any objection to the entries/changes in the list of voters shall send their objections in writing to the Secretary General. Friday, July 26, 2024
5 The Secretary General will intimate action on the objection or changes send by members. Wednesday, July 31, 2024
6 Any member aggrieved by the decision of the Secretary General, taken in the preceding clause, may make a representation to the Election Commission. Friday, August 02, 2024
7 The Election Commission to decide representation of the aggrieved person. Tuesday, August 06, 2024
8 Any person aggrieved with the decision of the Commission or where the Commission fails to decide the representation within the stipulated time provided in Sub-rule (6) may appeal to the Regulator, and decision of the Regulator in this regard shall be final. Monday, August 12, 2024
National Independence Holiday 14th August 2024.
9 The Regulator to decide the appeal and his decision in this regard shall be final. Thursday, August 22, 2024
10 The final list of voters shall be displayed at Notice Board and at website of the Chamber and shall also be submitted to the Regulator. Nomination will be started on 26 August 2024, and nomination forms can be obtained from VCCI Secretariat. Monday, August 26, 2024
11 Last Date of Submission of nomination papers to Secretary General.Any person who is eligible to contest the Election for the vacant posts of the Member Executive Committee shall submit his nomination papers duly proposed, seconded by a duly registered voter and signed by the candidate, to the Secretary General on the prescribed form in accordance with the Articles of Association or Rules of the Chamber. In the same manner women entrepreneurs desiring to contest the election for the women reserved seats in the Executive Committee will submit nomination papers. Wednesday, August 28, 2024

12 Scrutiny of nomination papers by the Election Commission, display of list of candidates and a copy of final list of voters to be provided to each contesting candidate whose nomination papers are in order. Wednesday, August 28, 2024

13 A copy of final list of voters to each contesting candidate. Except, the candidates of the women seats as their electoral college is Executive Committee not a general body and display of final list of candidates. Wednesday, August 28, 2024
14 The objection of the candidates, if any, to the nomination of candidates can be filed to the Election Commission. This clause ipso facto applies to the nominees of the women seats. Provided that the candidate for a particular seat will file objection for the candidate of the same seat and for the same class. Wednesday, August 29, 2024
15 The Election Commission will decide the objections filed under the preceding clause. This clause ipso facto applies to the nominees of the women seats. Friday, August 30, 2024
16 Any candidate, aggrieved by the decision of the Election Commission, taken under preceding clause, where the Commission fails to decide within the time stipulated in the preceding clause may file an appeal to the Regulator. This clause ipso facto applies to the nominees of the women seats. Tuesday, September 03, 2024
17 The Regulator Trade Organizations shall decide the appeal preferred under the preceding clause. This clause ipso facto applies to the nominees of the women seats. Tuesday, September 10, 2024
18 The Secretary General will receive the withdrawal forms from the nominees completed by the nominees who want to withdraw from the Election. This clause ipso facto applies to the Nominees of the women seats. Wednesday, September 11, 2024

19 The Commission will issue final list of candidates for the election for all the members who are eligible to participate in the election. Thursday, September 12, 2024
02 Days Gap from 15th to 16th September has been given due to Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
20 Polling for the election of members of the Executive Committee for Corporate Members at the registered office of the Chamber. (Polling Hours 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) Tuesday, September 17, 2024
21 The provisional result will be declared by the election commission immediately after the Counting of votes is completed. Tuesday, September 17, 2024
22 Polling for the election of members of the Executive Committee for Associate Members at the registered office of the Chamber. (Polling Hours 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) Wednesday, September 18, 2024
23 The provisional result will be declared by the election commission immediately after the Counting of votes is completed. Wednesday, September 18, 2024
24 The Election Commission will conduct election for the women reserved seats. The polling hours from 9.00 Am to 1.00 Pm. After the announcement provisional result of The election Executive Committee. Thursday, September 19, 2024
25 The Nomination papers for contesting the election of office bearers will be issued. Friday, September 20, 2024

26 Any person elected, as member of E.C. shall submit his nomination for election as an office bearer (President, S.V.P & V.P) duly proposed and seconded by an elected E.C. Member and signed by the candidate. Saturday, September 21, 2024
27 Scrutiny of the nomination papers for the election of office-bearers by the Commission and final list will be displayed on notice board. Monday, September 23, 2024
28 Polling for the election of office-bearers (President, S.V.P & V.P) The provisional result will be declared by the election commission. Tuesday, September 24, 2024

29 In compliance with VCCI Memorandum and Article of Association, The final result of the election of members of Executive Committee and office bearers shall be officially announced at the Annual General Meeting of The Chamber called for this purpose. Monday, September 30, 2024.
      EXPLANATION:  

  1. Above referred election schedule for year 2024-26 is prepared in conformity with trade organization Act 2013 and Companies Act 2017 and rules made their–under and VCCI Memorandum and Article of Association.
  2. For the purpose of this schedule day, means working hours of the chamber on that day unless otherwise stated.
  3. If any day on which an Act scheduled to be performed under the election schedule fall on a holiday such act, such act shall be performed following the holidays, except AGM which will be held on Sunday, September 30, 2024.

Timing to be observed in accordance with the working hours of the Vehari Chamber of Commerce & Industry  as under:
